Hey guys! If you know me personally, you are probably aware that I am a HUGE candle lover! I constantly have candles lit around my home. Not only do they leave the house smelling amazing, I find they add a sense of 'coziness' to the home. Over the past couple of months I have researched and tried numerous different candles from small shops throughout Canada. As we all know, supporting small businesses is now more important then ever. That being said, I want to share a few of my favourite candles from small businesses throughout Canada.
The Star Candle from Shy Wolf Candles: Shy Wolf candles are hand-poured by the owner, Julie, in her studio, tucked away in the country village of Grey Highlands, Ontario. With cotton wicks, reusable glass amber jars, sustainably-grown soy wax, and clean-burning, premium fragrance oils, Shy Wolf candles are a purchase you can feel good about. The Star Candle is personally one of my favourites. Raw honey, cocoa butter, cinnamon. A sweet scent that is reminiscent of renewed hope and faith and a sense that you are truly blessed by the universe at this time. Shy Wolf 8 oz candles are made from North American soy wax and burn for 40-50 hours.
2. Sugar Cookie Soy Wax Candle from The Scented Market: The Scented Marketing is a small business ran by Kristy, out of Guelph, Ontario. She runs the business with hardwork and pride, hand pouring each candle and tying each piece of twine with love from her kitchen. SUGAR COOKIE - a fresh baked cookie right out of the oven with a hint of buttery softness. Their 8 oz candles come in soft square glass mason jar with a farmhouse antique style round lid. Each candle is hand tied with a piece of twine. Each 8 oz candle has a burn time of approx. 50 hours.These candles are made with 100% all natural soy wax. It is renewable and sustainable. Never tested on animals and does not include animal byproducts. They use a premium cotton wick that does not contain lead. They use a high quality oil fragrance. These are Paraffin and Phthalate FREE! Their jars are 100% recyclable or reusable. Just wash with soap and water.
3. DYM Mini Candle from LOHN: LOHN candles are made with clean scents, an organic coconut and soy wax blend, a non-toxic wick and recyclable packaging. Every candle is vegan, paraben free, phthalate free, cruelty free, non-toxic and hand poured in Toronto. The DYM Mini Candle is a cleansing ritual of fire. Smoke curls through marble archways, colliding with the crispness of the outside air. Embers crackle and shift, a glowing reminder that only through fire can we be reborn. Spruce’s evergreen freshness combines with woodsmoke, bringing to mind a campfire in autumn. Birch’s woodiness and cedar’s resin add a forest-like clarity, with deep murmurs of pine courtesy of amyris. The 3 oz candle provides a clean burn for up to 20 hours. Top Notes: Birch & Woodsmoke. Middle Notes: Cedar & Spruce. Base Notes: Amyris & Guaiacwood.
4. Olde Mill Candle Co.: Olde Mill Candle Co. is my favourite candle shop, in my area! It is located in Lindsay, Ontario. I have numerous candles from them and to be honest, it's impossible for me to pick a favourite because I love them all! They have an incredible selection.
